About us
We are proud to inherit the heritage of Kingdom of Thailand.
We strongly believe that when Thai coffee companies engage in activities related to coffee, it is hard not to think about how the Arabica coffee industry originated. It started with one man who swore, “We shall reign with righteousness, for the benefit and happiness of the Siamese people,” in the Coronation at the Grand Palace. Yes, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the man who had sacrificed himself through seven decades of his reign to selfless service for the Thai people and the country, as he swore in 1950. Thailand was a poor country and had an unstable political situation after World War II ended in 1945. In his fourth decade, His Majesty had visited Chiang Mai many times, spending eight months of the year, to improve the well-being through agricultural projects that were experimented with in his palaces. He turned his palaces into a big experimental field. He wanted to elevate the quality of life of the Thai people as much as possible on his own, without expecting support from the Thai Government. Thus, he initiated the Royal Project.
Around 1969, he introduced Arabica coffee trees to the Northern hill tribes in Chiang Mai as part of a project aimed at replacing opium plantations. The northern hill tribes had a more stable income. Nowadays, Thai coffee has become one of the world's finest coffees. There are many mountains and hills, known as ‘Doi’ in Thai, with Arabica coffee plantations, such as Doi Chang, Doi Tung, and Doi Saket. As Thais, we are proud to inherit this precious heritage from His Late Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej – a true humanitarian, visionary, and father to all the Thai people.
"Therefore, we are willing to preserve these hills of heritage. "
